Privacy policy

VIBE helps you find people and events nearby. This is what data we collect, why, who we share it with and how to delete it. We don’t sell data or show third-party ads.

What we collect

• Account: email and password (we keep only a hash of the password and email you a confirmation code) or Sign in with Apple; name, date of birth (only to check you’re 18+), city, language, interests, profile photo.
• What you create: events (with place and address), requests and attendance, messages and photos in event chats, ratings after meetups, reports, support requests.
• Contacts and social links — only the ones you add, with the visibility you choose.
• Location: used on your phone to show events nearby and distances. We don’t store where you are. We only store a spot you choose yourself for alerts about new events nearby.
• A device token for push notifications, and your notification settings.
• Anonymous usage statistics: which screens and buttons get used, with no account, name or text, under a random device id. You can switch it off in Profile.
• Crash reports: the error, device model and system version, without your data or text.

Why

• To run the app: show events, let you join, chat and get notified.
• For safety: age check, spam limits, handling reports and blocks.
• To fix bugs and learn what to improve.

Who sees your data

• Other people see your name, photo, city and ratings. An event’s participants see its chat. Contacts are visible only to those you allow.
• Services that help us run VIBE: Hetzner (servers and backups in Germany), Cloudflare (domain and email), Resend (confirmation code emails), Sentry (crash reports, EU), Apple (sign-in and push notifications), OpenFreeMap (map tiles) and Photon (address search). They process data only for these purposes.
• We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• While you have an account. When you delete it, we delete your profile, photos, contacts, notifications, support requests and tokens. Your messages in other people’s chats become empty “deleted” placeholders so conversations still make sense. Backups are overwritten within 30 days.
• Anonymous statistics are kept for up to 6 months.

Your rights

• Download all your data: Profile → “Download my data”.
• Delete your account: Profile → “Delete account”.
• Correct your profile, switch off statistics, notifications or location access in your phone’s settings.
• For any question about your data, write to support@appvibeua.com. You can also contact the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights or the data protection authority in your country.

Age

VIBE is for people 18 and older only.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll tell you in the app. The date of the last change is at the top.
